Night Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay

I went out fishing on the Chesapeake Bay Tuesday night with fellow ward member, Rich. Rich is a First Mate on 33' fishing yacht. The owner and Captain of the boat is Captain John. He's a kind hearted but rough and tumble 86 year old who only wishes to fish the rest of his days. We went out with a crew of 8 people and fished from 8:30pm to 11:00pm. We were bottom fishing for croakers (named so because they croak much like a bull-frog when you pull them out of the water) and caught over 100 of them! Captain John showed us all how its done and pulled in over 30 fish himself. It was an absolutely gorgeous night with no waves and all the stars in the night sky visible. On the Chesapeake Bay at night, schools of 3 inch jelly fish come to the surface of the water. Whenever these jellyfish are disturbed they give off a soft blue green glow much like a fire-fly. It was an incredible site when we were heading back to shore, watching the jellyfish bounce off the boat and get turned over in the wake leaving a phosphorescent trail behind the boat. I didn't get home until 2:30am after filleting the fish and the hour and a half ride home.

House pictures

Since we might not be living in this house much longer, we decided to take some pictures of it.

We went crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay right by the Bay Bridge at Sandy Point State Park. We went with Rory and Sonya, and their two boys Bradley and Jason. We had a fun day of playing on the beach and walking around. Its still very early in the crabbing season but we surprisingly caught two crabs. We can't wait to go back later and catch a feast!

We've Finally Moved

Tiffany and Logan flew out of Salt Lake City on 05/28/03. Then I rented a truck and drove to Maryland with my father. Luckily, Logan was just as sweet as could be on the plane. We drove nonstop (except for gas) all the way and got there in 34 hours, not bad for a 16 foot truck towing a car!
