Calvert Cliffs

The Calvert Cliffs are clay cliffs that line a part of the Chesapeake Bay. The cliffs have slowly deteriorated, falling into the bay. Buried in the cliffs are all sorts of dinosaur type fossils (mainly dinosaur sharks teeth, from when the region was underwater) that also fall into the bay and wash up onto the beaches. After venturing on a fun two mile hike to get to the beach, everyone is welcome to sift through the beach to find and keep whatever they find. I managed to find 7 very small sharks teeth.

July 4th 2005

We spent the weekend in Richmond Virginia with Rory and Sonya and their in laws. It was a great relaxing weekend full of swimming, backyard fireworks, and a parrot! Dad especially loved getting a flat tire in his car 150 miles away from home with all the car shops closed for the 4th!
