Kids dancing to 'Never Gonna Give You Up'

I happened to stumble across this song on YouTube and the kids instantly started dancing. I just had to grab the camera.

"What .com's did you go to?"

Logan drew a picture of Mario in his fireball costume then told Tiffany

"Mommy, I want a fireball Mario costume."

"Baby, when I was looking for your birthday decorations I would've seen some. They don't make them."

"Well, did you try MarioCostumes.com?? What .com's did you go to?

Fudging a bit to end the conversation Tiff replied, "I did go to MarioCostumes.com, and they didn't have any."

"Well, what if you looked up MarioT-shirt.com? I bet they have costumes there..."

Princess Mara

Samara found a box of princess dresses that we planned on giving her for her birthday in April. Needless to say, the box was opened and now we need to buy a new birthday present.

Logan's 5th Birthday

As usual Logan had an awesome birthday party. Being the big Nintendo fan he is, he wanted the theme this year to be the Mario Brothers. I had seen several months prior on flickr.com some cute little Mario figures made out of Perler Beads. So we bought a pack and made some of our own to use as decorations on his cake. The beads perfectly recreate the old school 8-bit Mario characters from our youth.

Instead of the traditional "pin the tail on the donkey" game, we played "pin the mustache on Luigi" using a constuction paper cut-out Luigi. We made an improvised piñata using a box with enough strings attached for each kid. They all tugged on the strings at the same time opening the bottom of the box. Kids swinging a bat at a real piñata in our apartment would've been a disaster!

Logan came away with lots of birthday loot, including another remote control helicopter like the kind in our popular youtube video.
