Easter 2008

We had a great Easter weekend.

First, on Saturday, the kids went on an Easter egg hunt with some of the other children from church. Between the time that it took the dads to hide all the Easter eggs and the time the kids came out to look for them it started to rain a really weird rain/sleet mixture. It was the quickest Easter egg hunt I've ever seen. Then later on that day we went to the temple visitors' center to watch one of my father's choir performances. Logan was the center of attention there with the bunny ears that he wore everywhere.

On Sunday the kids came downstairs to find the usual baskets filled with candy, toys, and books. After church we drove up to my parents place in Maryland where we had another Easter egg hunt. Samara is old enough now to swing on the swing set in their backyard. She has the swinging bug just like Logan did. She was freezing on the swings but wouldn't come in even for chocolate, and that's her favorite!
After a lot of playing and wrestling with the grandparents we finally headed home, we were all pooped.

Boy Scout Camp out

I brought Logan with me on a Boy Scout camp out this weekend at Bull Run Park. Some of the other scout leaders have sons Logan's age so we bring them all out with us. The weather forecast called for heavy rain and strong winds but fortunately the rain only sprinkled for several hours and the trees shielded us from any wind. We built a legendary fire dubbed the "vortex of doom" which will undoubtedly go down in Chantilly ward scouting history.

Curlers!!

Samara's hair is getting long enough to put curlers in. She absolutely loves pretending to put on makeup with her mommy and she loved this as well. Tiffany put some hot curlers in this morning (didn't get any pics while those were in) and then we put some foam curlers in tonight for her to sleep in.
As usual, when we went upstairs to put them to bed they started playing with their toys. They were so cute tonight that we let them play for a while, while we took some pictures.
**Update**
She actually kept the foam curlers in her hair all night long!

Soccer

Can you believe it? Logans old enough to start playing sports! We signed him up on the local soccer league and we couldn't be any more excited. We went shopping today and bought all the equipment needed to get started. Even though it's still pretty cold we just had to go outside to kick the ball around today.
