Halloween

My favorite holiday has come and gone again. The kids had a great time dressing up as a ninja turtle and a pirate. We did the usual Trunk-or-Treat at the church as well as trick or treating in the neighborhood. We brought along with us our friends' son, Michael, who is Samara's age.

This was the first Halloween Samara understood what was going on. She was really excited to start hiking around to gather candy. Unfortunately, her little legs couldn't keep up with her desires. She tired out fairly quickly and had to be carried the rest of the way (those steps right in front of your door take a lot of steam out of a 2 year old). Michael, whom I've nicknamed "little tank", is all boy and stormed his way up and down every stair with the best of the older boys. Since Tiffany is due in just four days, the task fell on me to walk (and carry) them around. Can you guess who was most tired of all?

A Hidden Gem

I was clearing out the pictures on our camera today when I came across a video that I didn't recognize. I played it and couldn't believe what I saw.  Samara had crawled up onto my desk, turned on the camera, took a few pictures of my computer, then switched the camera to video mode and took a video. It just so happened that when she hit the record button our phone rang. The blazing fast speed with which she answers the phone is hilarious! I looked at the date the video was recorded and it was from a month ago on a Sunday. Tiffany remembered my father saying that several Sundays ago he tried calling us twice but each time Samara would pick up the phone and hang up on him. Little did we know she got it on tape!

Rudolph

As you can see, Samara scraped her nose quite nicely. I'm actually surprised that it took this long for one of our children to do this. It seems every family has some old photos (school pictures are the best) of a child with a scraped up face.

She was about to step up onto the curb coming back from Logan's bus stop but she tripped and faceplanted right onto the corner of the curb. Ouch!!
